MSU Federal Credit Union – Downtown Branch

MSU Federal Credit Union – Downtown Branch

The MSUFCU Downtown Branch is located in the heart of downtown Lansing within walking distance of the Michigan State Capitol. The renovation of the existing 3,900 square foot branch took place in two phases to allow the Credit Union to seamlessly continue to serve its members during construction. The challenge presented to Daniels and Zermack design staff was to revolutionize the way the Credit Union serves its growing membership. The focal point of the new model is an efficient, attractive and ergonomic Member Service Representative Desk (MSR Desk) that strengthens the relationship between the member and the Member Service Representative. The eight MSR desks feature multi-specie suspended wood ceiling clouds and accent walls that invite members to the new model of financial service. The Downtown Branch also features the careful restoration of a century old brick bearing wall having both new and existing masonry openings, supported by exposed steel beams, which maintain important sight lines throughout the space. In addition to restoring the masonry wall, a new vestibule, waiting area, community chalkboard, millwork, flooring and lighting were added.
