MSU Federal Credit Union – Financial Innovation & Education Center

The challenge presented to the design team was to turn a long, non-descript, double fronted storefront into a lively, multifunctional space to attract part time student employees.  Both facades were reclad and reimaged, with new materials and a student design competition commissioned mural.  The image colors and graphics create a readily identifiable street presence. The interior was opened to the structure to provide bright, interactive spaces for individual and group work as well as training functions.  Vibrant accent colors, team building murals, and up-lighting enlivens the interior space.  Open angled workstations focus toward integrated whiteboards, chalkboards and monitors for presentation work.  The plan concept visually shortens a very deep space and provides an interesting atmosphere for several concurrent activities without seeming cramped or constrained.
